The Seattle Dragons top pick in the XFL Draft was Brandon Silvers. Brandon for 10,677 yards at Troy Sate (2014-17), with a 64.4% an 135.8 passer rating. Despite that, the 6-foot-3, 224-pound quarterback was not taken in the 2018 NFL draft. He was invited to the New Orleans Saints rookie camp, but was not signed.
Last year, Silvers played for the Memphis Express of the AAFL but was relegated to 2nd string behind former Penn State Nittny Lion Christian Hackenberg. Silvers got hurt putting him behind Zack Mettenberg and Johnny Manziel on the depth chart.
“I got benched during that game for some reasons I don’t know why, but I came back in late and won that game,” Silvers said. “Johnny is one of my favorite teammates of all time, so it was nothing he did … but having to come back in there cold, eight minutes left and down two touchdowns (and win), I felt really good.”
Silvers would finish the season going 80-125 for 799 yards and a 4-1 TD to interception ration. He would find himself in the NY Jets camp before being cut and entering the XFL draft.
