Former Washington Husky will be one of six former Seattle Seahawks suiting up for the XFL Seattle Dragons. In 2015, Kasen Williams made his debut as a Seahawk playing in 2 games and getting his 1st NFL catch for 8 yards against the Arizona Cardinals. He would bounce around the league before finding his way back home to start for the hometown crowd.
“We’re gonna have the fans,” Williams said after Friday’s practice. “They’re gonna show out. We’re probably gonna have the best fanbase in the whole XFL. I told them get ready. It’s not gonna feel like an XFL game, when we go play away and we come back home it’s going to be a completely different vibe.”
The former Skyline kid would have a solid career at UW where he would earn All-Pac12 honors in 2012 before having a horrific broken fibula injury against the Cal Bears. The injury derailed a wonderful college career but he powered on and defied the odds to earn a practice squad spot on the Seahawks and eventually earn an opportunity to show what he could do.
The dream however did not end after he was cut from the Cleveland Browns just a couple year later. Williams would be selected by the Seattle Seahawks and will look to feature prominently on a roster full of players who never made it as far as he did. As the roster will benefit form his presence, so will Seattle Dragon fans who get one more chance to see him play again.
