Head coach Shantay Legans, picked up where he left off with his 1st NCAA Tournament appearance. While last year, the pandemic cancelled an astounding 23-8 record that should have seen the mighty Eastern Eagles in the NCAA Tourny, there was some sort of justice in EWU steamrolling through the Big Sky tournament and making it to the Big Dance.

The Eagles have not been to the NCAA in 6 years, but with a 10 point win over the Montana State Bobcats on Saturday night, they found a way to reestablish themselves as a player in the pacific northwest as the only other team than Gonzaga to make it to the round of 64–sorry UW and WSU.

After a 3 way tie in the regular season for 1st in the Big Sky, EWU steamrolled Northern Arizona and both Montana schools to take the title. The reward is to play a reeling Kansas Jayhawks squad in the 1st round this March 20, 2021*
