A running cross by Kim Kee-Hee found Portland Timber’s defender Julio Cascante’s foot to rebound into the net as the Timbers would fall victim to an own goal. This would be the only score of the game as the Seattle Sounders won their 7th game in a row and shot straight into playoff contention.
It's technically an Own Goal, but Kim Kee-hee does all the work to make this happen. What a play. Seattle up 1-0 with 13 to go. pic.twitter.com/o4ihxVUzOA

The 76th minute goal would earn the Sounders their 1st win in Portland in 5 years. The win would be fitting as a June 30th loss to Portland in Seattle, kicked off a 10 game undefeated streak that has seen them go 8-0-2 in July and August.
The @SoundersFC have now won a franchise-record SEVEN straight games and it was the sweetest of them all – on the road at Portland! Seattle moves into playoff position with a 1-0 win and has now been unbeaten in TEN straight matches! Amazing.

The Timbers had the shot advantage in the 1st half with a 14-2 advantage that kept Sounders goalie Stefan Frei quite busy. But as most MLS teams have come to learn in the last 3-4 years Stefan Frei is the best goalie in the league and is the main reason why the Sounders are back to back defending MLS Western Conference champs.
