Sounders roll into MLS Cup with 3-0 shutdown on Dynamo

The Seattle Sounders Just extended their MLS record for shutouts to 6 and they down the Houston Dynamo by a score of 3-0 (aggregate 5-0). After winning their 1st game ever at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, the Sounders took care of business and saw goals from Victor Rodriguez, Will Bruin, and another from Clint Dempsey to advance to the MLS Cup against Toronto FC for a 2nd year in a row.

The Dynamo Keeper Joe Willis must have been aggravated as the Rave Green assault was unimpeded by the Forever Orange defense, especially after becoming short-handed when Thomas Martinez was sent off the field on a video review for a dirty play. The 66 minute red card took all the steam out of the visiting Dynamo and at points in the 2nd half, it looked as if they just wanted to go home.

A highlight of the game included the return of Jordan Morris, who had not been on the field since 9.10.17. Getting back on the field gave the 45,298 fans (2nd most in Sounder playoff history) into a frenzy. Having Morris back (including a return of defender Roman Torres) could prove the inspiration and talent boost that the Rave Green will need in the MLS Cup.
