Sounders FC: Game 8 Recap vs Colorado Rapids

Clint Dempsey, Lamar NeagleThe Sounders FC travelled to Colorado and defeated their nemesis 3-1.  The score was indicative of the high rate of shots during this evening’s match.

Colorado fired 27 shots on goal, with 9 on target, to the Sounders 17 shots on goal, with an equal 9 on target.  The biggest difference was however, the 2 quick strikes by “253” Lamar Neagle in the 5th and 25th minute.  As well as, an additional netter by Oba(femi) Martins in the 73rd minute to put the icing on the cake.

The Rapids did get their attacks in on the Rave Green, but, Sounders Goalkeeper, Stephen Frei came through in the clutch with 8 saves.  Colorado’s lone goal came when Dillon Powers slid a ball passed Seattle’s backline and Gabriel Torres slotted it inside the far post.

Bookings were earned by Tyrone Mears, Andy Rose, and Chad Marshall–all yellow cards.

Seattle (3-2-1) beat Colorado (1-2-3) for the fifth straight time, outscoring the Rapids 14-3.
