The Seattle Sounders will get an infusion of talent for thier nealry lost season in the form of Peruvian striker Raul Ruidiaz. The Sounders had been working on signing the star of Los Incas who was elimnated from the World Cup in Russia this week.
“Negotiations for players of this caliber are never easy, stretching across many months with the support of our entire club,” Seattle general manager Garth Lagerwey said. “Collectively, we were relentless in our pursuit of Raul because he is a proven difference-maker at the highest levels of the game. Wherever he has played, he has made his teams better.”
The 27 year old was a star in Liga Mexico with Morelia where he lead the league in goals for the last 2 years, with an amazing 19 goals this last season. Ruidiaz should be ready in 2 weeks and is sorely needed as soon as possible. An aging Clint Dempsey and injured Jordan Morris have derailed the Sounders season. The Rave Green has just 13 goals in 14 games which is good for dead last in the MLS.
