The Everett Silvertips move to 4-3 on the season with a 5-3 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings. This was a dominant game and not as close as the score indicated. The Tips fired 44 shots on goal to the Kings 20.
The fireworks began in with 5 minutes to go in the 1st when the Tips Jake Christiansen scored on an assist by Connor Dewar. Things did get tricky as two 2nd period goals by the Oil Kings put the Tips in a deficit.
This didn’t last long as Dawson Butt fired an equalizer followed just a minute later (15:55) when Connor Dewar received a reciprocated assist from Christiansen for the go ahead power play goal.
Dewar would get another assist and another goal to cap the game in the 3rd period for his 6th goal and 5th assist on the year. Drafted 3rd round by Minnesota, Dewar looks to launch his NHL career hopefully later rather than sooner. With Dewar at the helm of this offense, the Tips have a chance to make waves in the WHL yet again.
