Silvertips obliterate Winterhawks 6-0

After dropping game 1 to the Portland Winterhawks, the Everett Silvertips decided turnabout is fair play. The Tips would drop the offensive powerhouse 6-0 in front of 5,631 rabid fans at the Angel of the Winds Arena. The series is now tied 1-1.

A very poignent moment occured before the game as the Silertips and the fans in attendance would honor in a moment of silence the tragedy just days earlier as the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy saw 10 players and several coaches and staff die in a horrific collision. The Canadian national athem and a raffle that raised over $11k for the Broncos friends and family superceeced the results of the game.

The game however, saw a host of play-makers. Martin Fasko-Rudas, Garrett Pilon and Sean Richards powered the offense with a goal each, while Matt Fonteyne earned a pair of assists. Patrick Bajkov would earn a hat-trick and Carter Hart would be his amazing all-world self with 26 saves and zero goals conceded.
