Seattle U misses opportunity to down Aggies

In a rematch against the New Mexico State Aggies, Seattle U came up a just a bit short as the Redhawks lost 59-54. The loss makes a WAC tournament appearance an uphill battle as the Redhawks have just 6 games left in WAC play.

Seattle U came out strong with a 29-22 lead in the 1st half with Terrell Brown scoring 14 points. Brown would finish strong with 25 total points on the day; however, he would get very little help.

Three Redhawks would find themselves in foul trouble with Myles Carter, Morgan Means, Mattia Da Campo each notching 5 personal fouls a piece. Carter would find himself only able to put 15 minutes of effort on the course. The team leader in points per game, would go just 20% from the field and put a mere 4 points on the board.

Matej Kavas and Delante Jones, two of the teams top scorers through non-conference action, have missed seven and four games, respectively, due to leg injuries. The Redhawks also went without Aaron Nettles and Riley Grigsby for three games as Nettles is nursing a nagging leg injury and Grigsby suffered a sprained ankle.

Defensively, Seattle U was outstanding though. They held the Aggies to just 35% shooting. New Mexico State would rely heavily on their bench as backup Trevelin Queen would score 13 points to lead their bench for the Aggies 11th straight win.
