TOM WILHELMSEN

Position:

Relief Pitcher

Biography:

Nick named “The Bartender” after he quit professional baseball and bar-tended from 2005-2009, before returning to the game in 2010. Once the team’s closer, Tom now serves as a set-up man for current closer Fernando Rodney. After a down 2013, which included a demotion to AAA, he fired off a solid 2014, reharnessing the skills that allowed him to collect 54 saves in the past three seasons.

Last Year:

57 Games played: 1 S, 2.27 ERA, 79.1 IP, 72 SO

SSU Projection:

60 Games played: 5 S, 3.10 ERA, 80 IP, 70 SO

The gap between his ERA and his FIP meet somewhere in the middle but his peripherals stay the same. He easily gobbles up any save chances passed to him.
