Seahawks trade down get DL Rasheem Green in 3rd round

With the departure of Micheal Bennett and potentially Clif Avril, the Seattle Seahawks have a huge need on the defensive line. Welcome USC’s Rasheem Green! The 6’4 274lb defensive end will be welcomed into the Hawks family. As a bonus, the Seahawks did trade down 3 picks with the Pittsburgh Steelers to gather an additional 7th round pick .

A natural defensive end, Green has played some defensive tackle. Rasheem is quite “green” pardon the pun, but he could be a logical supplimant to Frank Clark as an edge rusher.

Gree is an All Pac-12 talent who led his team with 12.5 tackles for a loss last year. He accuulated 43 tackles and 4 pass breakups. Huge upside and has a nack to knocking down passes along the line.

Green is a bit of a project. He came out in his junior year and could use a bit more seasoning.

“I wanted him to go back to school because he probably would have been a top-10 pick next year. He’s not strong enough to handle NFL guys yet so this year may be a redshirt year for him. He’s got some serious juice though. He’s going to be a dude when it all comes together.” — AFC team regional scout
