Jean Segura clubs 3 run dinger in All-Star game

The Seattle Mariners should have seen Jean Segura win the All-Star game MVP as he kept the American League in contention with a 3 run homer in the 8th inning. In a tie game, the Brewers Josh Hader served up a meatball to Jean Segura that he would end up crushing to drive in Shin-Soo Choo and George Springer.

Segura was this year’s final vote winner in the American League hitting .323, with 25 doubles, seven homers, 14 steals and 66 runs while becoming the de facto leader in the absence of Robinson Cano.

Jean Segura would go 2-2 with 3 RBI but narrowly miss the MVP to Alex Bregman of Houston who would put the game away in the 10th with a homer of his own.

Other Mariners to appear included Mitch Haniger would go 0-2 with a strikeout and Nelson Cruz who would walk in his only appearance. Closer Edwin Diaz gave up a homer in a blown save that he would probably prefer to not talk about; however, on the bright side, he did get the win.
