This was not the fairy tale ending for the University of Washington as they participated in their very 1st College World Series. The double-elimination tournament saw UW lose 1-0 to Mississippi State on on Saturday and now 14-5 to Oregon State on Monday.

UW looked good in front of 16,881 fans early int he game as they jumped on the Beavers with a 3 run 3rd inning when Jeff Cerrillo and Joe Wainhouse knocked in RBI singles followed by a Nick Kahle RBI double.

OSU would make this a back and forth battle, but the Dawgs would take the lead in the fifth when a Levi single would put the Huskies back in the lead 5-4.

Unfortunately, in the 6th the heavens would open up as a storm forced a 4 1/2 hour delay. After the very long delay, the teams would take the field and the Beavers would storm back and unleash their might with 9 unanswered runs ending any dreams of glory for the purple and gold.
