Brad came to the Mariners via the second round of the 2011 draft, leaving Clemson University with the Brooks Wallace Award for top collegiate shortstop. Made his debut in June of 2013 and was the team’s starting shortstop to start 2014 before giving way to Chris Taylor. Competing this spring with Taylor to be the team’s starting shortstop in 2015.

Last Year:

123 Games played: .221 AVG, 10 HR, 36 RBI, 4 SB

SSU Projection:

160 Games played: .265 AVG, 12 HR, 60 RBI, 7 SB

Wins starting shortstop job out of Spring Training, stellar defense able to lessen blow from what becomes only the occasional batting slump.

Random Fact/Quote:

He is currently sporting long hair, which is garnering more reaction than Brad anticipated. As he explained to Bob Sutton: “I wasn’t anticipating that. It’s very polarizing. There’s no in-between.”
